DOCTORS
Dr Norman Doidge BSc MB BS MRCGP DCH
DRCOG
Qualified at University College Hospital, London in 1976 and joined the practice in 1983. He has an interest in children’s medicine and is qualified in the training of GP registrars and medical students.
Dr Barry Henwood MA MB BS MRCGP DRCOG
Graduated from Cambridge and qualified at Guy’s Hospital, London in 1981. He joined this practice in 1985. He also has responsibility for the training of GP registrars within the practice.
Dr Mike Richards MA MB BS MRCGP DRCOG
Also graduated from Cambridge and qualified at Guy’s Hospital in 1982. He is a member of the Local Medical Committee and Medical Director of Devon Doctors Limited, the out-of-hours service for the whole of Devon. He has been with the practice since 1987.
Dr Andrew Robinson BSc PhD MB ChB MRCP MRCGP
Qualified at Bristol in 1988 and joined the practice in 1994. He is the Clinical Governance Lead for the practice.
Dr Sue Smout MB BS MRCGP DFFP
Qualified at St. George's Hospital Medical School, London in 1987. She has particular experience of the health of young people and, in addition to her work at the surgery, she runs the drop-in clinic at The Junction. She is also an appraiser of other GPs.
Dr Jocelyn Glenton BSc MB ChB MRCGP DCH DFRSH
Qualified at Leeds medical School in 2000. She has a particular interest in education and child health.
Drs Doidge, Henwood, Richards, Robinson,
Smout and Glenton practise together as a non-limited partnership.
PRACTICE MANAGER
Our administration team is led by practice manager Robin Elliott FCIB. Robin joined the practice in September 2002. He is responsible for the administration of the practice and all enquiries of a non-clinical nature should be addressed to him.
OFFICE AND PATIENT LIAISON MANAGER
Sue Howard is responsible for the day-to-day running of the practice and is responsible for our computer system. She also acts as the contact point for patients in respect of routine administrative matters such as hospital choice and hospital appointment bookings.
PRACTICE NURSES
We have a team of two practice nurses who provide a wide range of treatment and health advice. They are:

Our practice nurses are supported by Linda Perkins, healthcare assistant and our phlebotomist, Margaret Noble.
COMMUNITY NURSES (based at Albany Clinic - 01626 358664)
Albany surgery is supported by a team of community nurses with a range of skills and experience to manage the nursing needs of patients within their own home or residential setting. Concentrating on housebound patients, the team is led by team manager Judy Mellings.

DOCTOR AND STAFF TRAINING
To allow time for doctor and staff training the surgery usually closes at 12.30pm on one Thursday afternoon four/five times per year. Notices in the surgery confirm the relevant dates.
